BugCase Terms of Use

Version v2, last updated 2026-07-23

The extension license

The extension is source-available software licensed under the PolyForm Small Business License 1.0.0. The full license text ships in the repository as LICENSE, with the required notices in NOTICE. These Terms summarize how you may use BugCase; where they and the license differ about the software grant, the license text governs.

Hosted-dashboard terms

The dashboard today runs entirely in your browser: there is no account, no hosted service, and nothing is uploaded. If a hosted-dashboard offering is ever introduced, it will carry its own separate terms of service; those hosted-service terms are distinct from the extension license above and do not apply to the local, device-local dashboard you use now.

Acceptable use

Use BugCase to capture and review bug reports from pages you are authorized to inspect. Do not use it to circumvent the privacy protections described in the Privacy Policy, and remember that screenshots and element crops are not auto-scrubbed; you are responsible for redacting anything sensitive before you share a report.

No warranty

As far as the law allows, the software is provided as is, without any warranty or condition of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

As far as the law allows, the publisher will not be liable to you for any damages arising out of these Terms or the use or nature of the software, under any kind of legal claim. This mirrors the "No Liability" clause of the PolyForm Small Business License.

Governing law

The governing law and venue for these Terms are to be confirmed by the publisher (see the review notes). Nothing here waives any mandatory consumer rights you have under your local law.

Changes to these terms

Material changes are published on this page with a new "last updated" date. Continued use of the extension after a change means the updated Terms apply.

Definitions

These terms are used the same way in the Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use.
